Third baseman Scott Rolen cracked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Detroit Iron
Gloves defeated the SSB SSB Tar Heels by the score of 14 to 7 at the
ballpark.
Rolen really lit it up for Detroit. The SSB fans let him have it for what he
did to their boys. He doubled in the 1st inning, belted a three-run homer in
the 5th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 25th of the season) in
the 7th inning. Detroit out-hit SSB for the game, 13 hits to 9.
The winning pitcher was Kazuhito Tadano(3-1) who allowed 1 run in 4 innings.
Felix Rodriguez(1-1) was the loser in relief. With this win, Detroit has a
54-43 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With an impressive recent record
of 8-2, SSB hopes this will only be an isolated loss - followed by another
nice run.
